Privacy Policy – WellbeingGem.ie

Your privacy is very important to us. We strive to offer our visitors the many advantages of internet technology and to provide an interactive and personalised experience.

This Privacy Policy is created to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy and security. We collect information in different ways from visitors who access the various parts of our services and the network of websites accessible through our service. We use this information primarily to provide a customised experience as you use our services.

Like most websites, we also collect information automatically and through the use of electronic tools that may be transparent to our visitors. For example, we may log the name of your Internet Service Provider or use cookie technology to recognise you and hold information from your visit. As we adopt additional technology, we may also gather information through other means. In certain cases, you can choose not to provide us with information, for example by setting your browser to refuse to accept cookies.

When Do We Collect Information?

We collect information from you when you subscribe to a newsletter, fill out a form, or enter information on our site.

In our clinic, we capture most of the personal information relating to date of birth, height, weight, specific measurements, blood pressure, and medical history at your initial assessment for the purposes of monitoring your progress through your wellness programme.

When ordering or registering on our site, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, phone number or other details to help you with your experience.

When you enrol in any of our courses, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address, email address, and in some cases, your date of birth. We do not hold credit card or bank account details.

When you browse our website, we also automatically receive your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address which may help us learn about your browser and operating system. Aggregated Information (which does not personally identify you) may be used to enhance our site and services – for example, identifying which pages are most visited or features most useful.

When you give us details over the phone or subscribe to any of our mailing lists, and with your permission, we may send you emails with information about health and wellness, along with news and updates from Wellbeing Gem.

How We Use Your Personal Data

We act as a data controller for the use of your personal data to provide direct healthcare. We also act as a controller and processor for data we receive from third parties such as testing companies and other healthcare providers. Consent

When you provide us with personal information to complete a course enrolment, we imply that you consent to our collecting and using it for that specific purpose only.

If we request your personal information for any secondary reason (like marketing), we will ask you directly for your consent or provide you with an opportunity to decline. If you complete our inquiry forms and agree to receive information, your details may be added to our database for future newsletters or updates.

How to Withdraw Consent

If you change your mind after giving consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Every marketing email we send includes an “Unsubscribe” link. Alternatively, you can email us at gemma@wellbeinggem.ie.

  • In emergencies or situations involving vital interests (e.g., risk of serious harm or safeguarding concerns), we may pass on your information to appropriate authorities.

  • Our professional body, NTOI, in the event of a formal complaint.

  • In anonymised form, your case history may be shared for professional development purposes (e.g., clinical supervision, professional journals, conferences) with your explicit consent.

Third Party Services

Third-party service providers we use will only collect and use your information as necessary to perform services for us.

However, payment processors and similar services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their policies to understand how your data may be handled.
