What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is a science-based discipline and looks for the underlying cause rather than just treating the symptoms. Nutrition Therapy works on the premise that we are all biochemically individual and therefore a one size fits all approach to diet does not work. Natural balance is restored within the body through the use of delicious food, supplements and simple daily lifestyle strategies that work for you.
How many appointments will I require?
That depends on your case. Typically the first consultation will take 1 ½ hours. This is to get a complete picture of your health, family history, and lifestyle factors. I will then make recommendations – both dietary and lifestyle and give you a tailored plan. Supplements may be prescribed as required to rebalance nutrient levels and boost health. I may also recommend functional tests to gain a more accurate picture of your health.
A number of follow up appointments will be scheduled depending on what emerges and if lab tests are required. Follow up appointments typically take 45 minutes where we review progress and make any adjustments to your protocol.
Do you do testing?
Yes, I work with a range of labs and can arrange functional tests for vitamin and mineral deficiencies, adrenal stress profile, thyroid testing, homocysteine levels, food sensitivities, genetic testing plus others as required.
Please note: Always consult your GP if you are suffering or suspect you may be suffering from any medical condition.
